IT House is recruiting an AI Engineer for a client in the automotive industry, located in Lisbon.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Integrate into engineering teams to plan, build, test, and implement features using AI coding agents and agent methodologies;
  • Configure, integrate, and govern AI development agents (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code), establishing standards, limits, and team-level review flows for AI-generated code;
  • Adapt agent workflows to legacy environments (Delphi, COBOL, FoxPro, PowerBuilder, WinDev, Visual Basic, Java), covering codebase understanding, test generation, refactoring, and support for modernization;
  • Design, build, and operate agent systems and shared capabilities across products (orchestration, RAG, planning, memory, observability);
  • Integrate commercial and open-source LLMs into production workflows, balancing capability, cost, latency, and data protection;
  • Contribute production code in modern stacks (C#, .NET Core, React, TypeScript) and legacy, establishing automated testing practices and conducting code reviews;
  • Mentor engineers, conduct training sessions, and document guidelines and standards that endure after involvement.

PROFILE

  • More than 8 years of backend experience;
  • More than 2 years of hands-on experience with LLMs and agent systems in production;
  • Experience with GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code (or similar) in team environments;
  • Experience with large/mature code bases (Delphi, COBOL, FoxPro, PowerBuilder, WinDev, Visual Basic or Java is a plus);
  • Experience with scalable web services, distributed systems, Agile/DevOps, and cloud (Azure, AWS, or GCP);
  • Previous experience as an internal consultant or transformation leader is a significant advantage;
  • Fluent in English (mandatory); French/Spanish is a plus.
