The Job Role as Platform Engineer:
You’ll play a key role in managing and evolving a cloud platform that supports one of ISS’s largest global applications, used across multiple markets and integrated with several internal systems.
Working with OpenShift on Azure, you’ll contribute to building a scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure that supports a growing integration platform with increasing demand.
What you’ll do:
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable infrastructure in Azure and on-premise environments with focus on Linux.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps to automate infrastructure deployments.
- Support our largest application of ISS which is connected to multiple internal systems.
- Monitor system health and performance using monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Check_MK).
- Define and implement security and infrastructure standards.
- Optimize infrastructure costs and usage, leveraging cost management tools.
- Manage and improve Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible.
- Troubleshoot issues across infrastructure, network, and application layers.
- Stay updated on emerging DevOps tools and trends and contribute to process improvements within the team.
Key qualifications:
Must have:
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role with a focus on cloud infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with Linux administration and several scripting languages (Bash, Python).
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Azure platform services and architecture (Subscriptions, Resource Groups, Computing, Networking, Load Balancers, etc.).
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub or similar.
- English proficiency, both written and spoken.
Nice to have:
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools (Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, etc.).
- Basic knowledge in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of cost, security, and performance optimization within Azure and Linux systems.
- Experience working in an Agile or Scrum environment.
Personal skills:
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of an international team.
- Experience in customer communication.
