Principal Engineer - Cloud & Microservices Architecture

What you’ll be doing:

• Design and implement scalable, secure and maintainable cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure
• Lead the migration of complex centralized platforms and enterprise workflows into modern microservices architectures
• Solve large-scale distributed systems challenges involving scalability, reliability, resiliency, observability and system integration
• Apply modern architectural patterns such as APIs, event-driven systems, asynchronous messaging, and domain-driven design
• Improve system performance, monitoring, and operational reliability during and after migration initiatives
• Collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders to define and execute modernization roadmaps

What we’re looking for:

• Strong experience designing and operating distributed systems
• Proven experience solving complex architectural and scalability problems in enterprise environments
• Hands-on experience migrating monolithic or ESB-based systems into microservices-based architectures
• Deep understanding of integration patterns, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native design principles
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
• Experience with C#, Java, Python, or similar languages
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code
• English level: B2+

📍 Location: Full remote from Portugal, with 1 monthly visit to the office in Leiria.
