We are looking for a Quality & Test Engineer to join our delivery teams and help strengthen the way we approach software, data and AI quality. This is a hands-on role combining functional testing, test automation, data and integration testing, and AI-enabled Quality Engineering.

O que vais fazer

• Define, maintain and execute test plans and test scenarios based on business and technical requirements
• Perform functional, integration, regression and end-to-end testing
• Validate business rules, workflows, configurations, permissions and system behaviour
• Test APIs, interfaces and integrations between enterprise applications
• Validate data consistency, transformations, reconciliation and data quality across systems
• Identify edge cases and potential failure scenarios before solutions reach production
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts for regression and continuous testing
• Identify testing activities that can be automated and improve existing automation coverage
• Integrate automated testing into development and CI/CD processes where applicable
• Create reusable test components and automation patterns that can be applied across projects
• Work closely with developers to improve testability and automate quality controls throughout the delivery lifecycle
• Apply Generative AI and AI Agents to improve and accelerate testing activities
• Use AI to support test-case generation, requirements analysis, test-data generation, defect analysis and test documentation
• Explore agent-based approaches for executing tests, analysing results and identifying potential quality issues
• Evaluate where AI-generated testing can be trusted and where human validation remains necessary
• Contribute to reusable AI-enabled QA approaches, tools and accelerators for Apgar projects
• Contribute to the testing and evaluation of Generative AI, RAG and Agentic AI solutions
• Work with AI and Data teams to continuously improve the quality and reliability of AI solutions
• Identify, document, classify and track defects through resolution
• Work closely with developers, consultants and architects to analyse root causes and validate fixes
• Maintain clear test evidence and traceability between requirements, tests and defects
• Prepare quality dashboards, test results, defect KPIs and progress reports
• Communicate risks and quality issues clearly to project teams and stakeholders
• Identify opportunities to improve testing processes, tools and automation
• Keep up to date with emerging Quality Engineering, test automation and AI testing practices
• Experiment with new testing tools and approaches and assess their practical value
• Share knowledge and reusable practices with other Apgar teams
• Contribute to the evolution of Apgar's Quality Engineering capability across Data and AI projects

O que é pedido

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data, Engineering or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in Software Testing, Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering or related roles
• Hands-on experience testing enterprise applications, data platforms or complex business solutions
• Experience with functional, integration and regression testing
• Experience with test automation and API testing
• Experience working as part of Agile delivery teams
• Good understanding of software testing methodologies and Quality Engineering practices
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools
• Experience testing REST APIs and system integrations
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and continuous testing practices
• Ability to analyse logs, troubleshoot issues and work closely with development teams
• Good SQL skills and ability to validate data directly
• Understanding of data quality, data validation and reconciliation
• Experience testing workflows, business rules and data-driven applications
• Practical interest or experience using Generative AI to improve software development or testing activities
• Familiarity with LLMs, RAG and AI Agents
• Understanding of the specific challenges involved in testing non-deterministic AI solutions
• Interest in experimenting with new approaches to AI-enabled testing and Quality Engineering
• Working knowledge of Python, Java, JavaScript or another programming/scripting language
• Experience with API testing and automation tools
• Familiarity with Git and modern software development practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail without losing sight of the business objective
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of testing activities
• Comfortable working directly with developers, consultants and business stakeholders
• Curious and proactive mindset, with a willingness to experiment and learn
• Ability to explain quality issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Team-oriented approach and willingness to share knowledge
• Interest in how AI is changing software development and Quality Engineering

Valorizado

• Exposure to Data Management, MDM, Data Quality or data-intensive applications is a strong advantage
• Experience with MDM platforms such as Semarchy xDM, Informatica, Reltio, Stibo STEP, EBX or similar is an advantage
• Exposure to AI evaluation frameworks, LLM testing, prompt testing or agent evaluation is an advantage
• Experience with cloud environments such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud is an advantage
