AI & Automation Lead

We are looking for an AI & Automation Lead to join an international consulting environment and coordinate end-to-end AI and automation initiatives, from architecture design to production delivery.

In this role, you will lead the implementation of AI-driven and automation solutions, working closely with multidisciplinary teams across integration, low-code, software, and data domains. You will play a key role in shaping technical direction, overseeing delivery, and helping organizations adopt modern AI and automation capabilities at scale.

The role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership, stakeholder management, and solution architecture responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, discuss, estimate, and implement AI and automation architectures.
• Coordinate the delivery lifecycle of AI and automation initiatives, ensuring quality and alignment with business goals.
• Create and manage project backlogs, monitoring progress and reporting on delivery status.
• Lead and support teams working across AI and GenAI, Integration, Automation, and Low-code platforms.
• Develop and implement intelligent workflows, automation pipelines, and AI agents.
• Contribute to QA processes and support junior team members through mentoring and technical guidance.
• Support pre-sales activities related to AI and automation opportunities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across technical and business domains to define scalable and effective solutions.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in automation, integration, software engineering, and/or data engineering.
• At least 2 years of dedicated experience delivering GenAI solutions.
• Strong experience leading technical teams in enterprise or consulting environments.
• Proven experience delivering automation and RPA projects, ideally with Microsoft technologies.
• Solid knowledge of AI and automation architectures, from design to production deployment.
• Strong experience with Python and exposure to GenAI frameworks/libraries.
• Good understanding of software engineering and/or data engineering principles.
• Experience with technologies such as Python, Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Microsoft Foundry, and GenAI frameworks (e.g., Agent Frameworks).
• Ability to work autonomously and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluency in English.

Nice-to-have

• Experience with: Power Apps, Azure AI Search, Azure Container Apps / Kubernetes, Azure Cosmos DB / Storage, UiPath.
• Availability to work in a hybrid model in Lisbon and/or Porto offices.
• Flexibility to work occasionally from client premises when required.
• Experience in corporate or consulting environments.
• Combination of technical depth with strong functional/business understanding.
