Workshop Maker: From Prompt to Reality

Forget about boring theoretical lectures and abstract concepts. The Workshop Maker: From Prompt to Reality is a pure and immediate co-creation event, tailored for makers, entrepreneurs, and innovation enthusiasts who want to see technology happen right before their eyes.

In this intensive session of two and a half hours, we will connect creative minds to respond to a challenge presented on the spot: to take an idea suggested by the audience, transform it into a three-dimensional model and start its physical production in a matter of minutes.

How will the dynamics work?

We bring no pre-made design on the USB drive. The project of the night will be born from scratch, fueled by the imagination of the participants:

• The Collective Challenge: We will gather concepts, keywords, and aesthetic preferences directly from the audience on the board.
• Live Prompt Engineering: We will use ChatGPT to structure and refine our collective idea.
• Dimensional Transition: The chosen visual concept will be converted into a 3D volumetric mesh through Rodin AI.
• Feasibility Slicing: We will analyze the model in Orca Slicer, adjusting walls, supports, and bed orientations.
• Start of 3D Printing: We will send the file to the machine and begin the calibration and real production cycle live!

From Digital to Physical (And From Behind the Scenes to the Networks)

As the event time is focused on sharing tools (2h30), the printer will set up and start the first layer with us in the lab. Once the process is safely stabilized, we will shift focus to an informal and open discussion about the financial viability of projects and the impact of artificial intelligence on the creative market.

The conclusion of the mystery — the removal of the object from the table, post-processing, and the final outcome of the physical piece — will be followed by all participants through the official social media of FabLab Coimbra after the event.
