Position: Data Engineer AWS (100% Remote)

What does it mean to be a Data Engineer at Nimber? It means designing and managing data pipelines that power decision-making. It means working with AWS services to build secure, scalable, and efficient data architectures. It means turning complexity into clarity.

What you'll be doing (in epic fashion):

- Design and maintain ETL processes using AWS Glue, including Glue Catalog, Jobs, and Crawlers.

- Manage AWS S3 for data storage and retrieval, ensuring security and performance.

- Build and secure data lakes with AWS Lake Formation, applying best practices for governance and architecture.

- Use AWS Athena for querying large datasets and optimizing SQL queries for speed and efficiency.

- Create and implement data models tailored to business needs.

- Apply AWS security best practices, including IAM roles, encryption, and access control.

- Optimize performance across AWS services and troubleshoot issues proactively.

- Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

- Manage multiple projects and deliver on time.

What we're looking for:

Mandatory:

- Minimum of 4 years in similar experiences.

- Hands-on experience with AWS Glue, S3, Lake Formation, and Athena.

- Strong skills in data modeling and ETL design.

- Understanding of AWS security principles (IAM, encryption).

- Ability to optimize performance and troubleshoot AWS services.

- Solid communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

- Project management capability to handle multiple priorities.

- AWS Certification (Big Data or Solutions Architect) is a big plus.

Nice to have:

- Knowledge of AWS Redshift for data warehousing.

- Familiarity with AWS Aurora for relational database services.

- Experience with performance tuning and query optimization.
