Senior DevEx Engineer

Location: Lisbon, Portugal

INSCALE on behalf of JYSK is looking to hire a dedicated DevEx Engineer to improve the CI/CD workflows, automate processes and build the tooling and infrastructure with industry’s best practices to optimize our software delivery pipeline.

As a DevEx, you will contribute to the ongoing development of JYSK’s cross-channel e-commerce platform. You will play a key role in platform development, technical support, and guiding your team on complex tasks.

Your work will directly impact the performance and scalability of services used in over 30 countries.

As a DevEx Engineer, you are responsible for building, maintaining and supporting tools, workflows, and building blocks that make it easier to develop software according to JYSK's standards.

You’ll be at the forefront of innovation, working with newer technology, frameworks and platforms to drive impactful solutions and elevate systems and processes, including:

- Take technical ownership of systems, technology, or application areas, driving solution designs and mentoring colleagues.

- Participate in project breakdowns, platform development, and Agile processes, influencing direction and ensuring effective collaboration.

- Maintain continuous personal and professional development, with responsibility for self-improvement and knowledge sharing.

Platform Development / Capabilities

- Develop advanced integrations and self-service tools to optimize system efficiency.

- Create, maintain and support tooling to enhance all aspects of the SDLC.

- Support automated testing in build pipeline.

- Driving the dialog of relentless improvement of the DevEx product with their customers.

- Assist with migrating legacy platforms to cloud-based solutions.

- Enhance CI/CD pipelines standardization and faster deployments.

- Principles, practical guidelines and training to developers and other stakeholders.

Platform Ownership

- Own key platform components, ensuring stability, security, documentation, support, and a roadmap for continuous improvements.

- Communicating with developers to better understand their needs for the platform we are building.

Technical Support

- Provide troubleshooting and support to other teams for platform-related issues.

MVP Mindset

- Deliver small, iterative, and robust solutions with a focus on developer experience and continuous delivery.

Education and Knowledge Sharing

- Stay updated on technology trends, share knowledge within teams, and participate in relevant training and networks.

- Promote GitOps practices and actively contribute to workshops, hackathons, and learning sessions.

Resource Planning

- Proactively communicate timelines and plan tasks in alignment with team priorities.

Qualifications

Must-Have:

- Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Argo Workflows/CD, Flux.

- Must have proven programming experience ideally in Java or .NET, Python, Go.

- Good understanding of Kubernetes and Containers.

- Familiarity with build tools like Maven, Gradle.

- Proficient communication skills in English.

Good to Have:

- Proficiency with Ansible for infrastructure automation.

- Virtual Machines experience.

- Configuration Management.

- Helm.

- Experience with AWS, GCP or Azure.

- Security tools, e.g. Snyk, dependabot.

Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related discipline OR relevant years of experience in required skills.
