Microsoft, in partnership with Founderz, has unveiled AI Skills 4 All, a free online course aimed at equipping individuals with essential AI skills for use in both their personal and professional lives. This initiative is available in 10 European countries, including Portugal, and is designed to cater to learners at all skill levels, from beginners to those with some technical background. The course spans eight hours and is part of Microsoft’s AI National Skilling program.
This program is in line with Microsoft’s broader mission to empower 100 million people globally with AI capabilities. The AI Skills 4 All course covers critical areas such as understanding AI’s potential, responsible usage, and its application in everyday scenarios. Participants can also earn a Microsoft Achievement Badge upon completion, showcasing their newly acquired skills.
Microsoft’s Work Trend Index highlights that 75% of knowledge workers are already leveraging generative AI in their work, and nearly 80% believe these skills are vital for staying competitive in their careers. As demand for AI expertise rises, this course provides a self-paced learning experience to help individuals enhance their understanding of AI at their convenience.
Sofia Vaz Pires, COO of Microsoft Portugal, noted, “By providing accessible AI education, we aim to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and make AI a key driver of innovation for people and organizations alike.”
Running until June 2025, AI Skills 4 All is part of a broader set of initiatives by Microsoft, which includes the global Microsoft Learn platform and several regional programs. Among these is the PS AI Skilling Academy in Portugal, designed to upskill public sector IT professionals, and the AI Innovation Factory in Lisbon, a collaboration to accelerate AI adoption across industries. These efforts reflect Microsoft’s dedication to advancing AI literacy and digital transformation worldwide.
