ALSO Portugal: Combining Local Proximity with Global Synergies

ALSO Portugal recently hosted customers and partners at the National Railway Museum in Entroncamento, outlining its strategy and transformation into a “technology provider.”

Strategic Focus

At the ALSO Channel Trends+Visions 2024 event, Anabela Correia, Chief Customer Officer, highlighted the company’s 40-year journey. With €11.1 billion in 2023 revenue and over 4,000 employees, the company balances “local proximity” with global synergies to strengthen partnerships and innovate business models. Despite challenges like inflation and supply chain issues, Portugal’s IT market is set to grow, with spending projected to reach €9.7 billion, driven by cloud adoption.

Transformation Path

ALSO is shifting from a traditional distributor to a technology supplier, focusing on customer loyalty, partner margins, and team specialization. Correia announced a new webshop launching in 2024, featuring advanced automation and additional services. The company’s hybrid model blends local expertise with global resources, ensuring flexibility and value.

Future Outlook

While 2023 saw delays in public sector projects, corporate investment continued. Correia expects 2024 to see growth, driven by IT renewals and the transformation of small retailers.

Seamless Integration

Reflecting on ALSO’s acquisition of jp.di, Correia praised the team’s adaptability, highlighting the benefits of shared knowledge and collaboration.

ALSO Portugal remains a key player, leveraging local and global strengths to drive innovation and growth in the IT sector.
