Purpose of the Role

Support the Safety Manager in maintaining safe, compliant, and efficient UAS operations in line with Regulation (EU) 2019/947 and other applicable regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the safety risk database and ensure its continuous update.

- Assist in managing operational occurrences and related investigations, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up of corrective actions.

- Support the preparation of operational risk assessments, contributing to mitigation evaluations and action plans.

- Assist in drafting and implementing operational change management processes.

- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the operational safety environment, procedures, policies, and standardisation.

- Conduct meetings related to operational risk management, under the supervision of the Safety Manager, such as Safety Action Group meetings and others.

- Help maintain the Operations Manual and compliance records, ensuring these are updated whenever operations, means, or mitigations change.

- Act as a liaison with National Aviation Authorities for audits, renewals, inspections, and clarifications related to UAS operations.

- Conduct operational site reconnaissance, obstacle assessment, and geospatial analysis to support operational risk assessment.

- Support hazard identification, development of Safety Performance Indicators (SPIs), and monitoring of safety performance.

- Contribute to the planning, organisation, and recording of internal training on operational safety and UAS compliance.

- Support the implementation and use of digital tools for occurrence reporting, risk management, and action tracking.

Qualifications and Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Engineering, or a related field.

- 3 years of experience in UAS regulatory compliance or drone operations (preferred).

- Practical knowledge of Regulations (EU) 2019/947 and 2019/945, as well as national legislation applicable to UAS operations in the “specific” category. (a plus)

- Experience with Safety Management Systems (SMS), risk management processes, and occurrence reporting in an aviation or UAS context. (a strong plus)

- Experience with safety or compliance audits and training (plus).

Skills and Attributes

- Advanced understanding of English, spoken and written (including technical documentation).

- Strong communication skills, technical writing ability, and teamwork in a multidisciplinary environment.

- High attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving orientation.

- Ability to organise work, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic operational environment.

- Availability for occasional international travelling.

- Availability to work 100% onsite at the office when required.

- Strong sense of responsibility, professional ethics, and confidentiality in handling safety data.
