SISCOG Enters a New Phase Under the Modaxo Group

SISCOG is moving into a new stage as part of the Modaxo Group. This Portuguese tech company, known for its AI-based tools used by railway and metro companies, was bought by Modaxo in July 2025. The new chapter focuses on growing its presence in Northern Europe and forming key partnerships. SISCOG keeps full control over how it develops products and handles customer relationships, which helps it stay fast and creative, as stated by CEO Miguel Velosa Rodrigues.

SISCOG was started in 1986 by two Portuguese AI experts, Ernesto Morgado and João Pavão Martins.

It became one of the first Portuguese software companies to export its products and became a top player in managing railway operations worldwide. Its main tools—Ontime, Fleet, and Crews—help with long and short-term planning, managing unexpected delays, and optimizing staff and vehicles. Customers have seen efficiency improvements of 2% to 10%, revenue increases of 3% to 5%, and planning time cut down by more than half, with most seeing returns on investment within six to twelve months.

SISCOG works with clients in Europe and North America, including projects in the UK, Netherlands, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Portugal, Spain, and Canada.

Its tools use AI and operations research, data learning, predictive models, scenario testing, and analytics. They are also designed to work with different rules and regulations around the world. SISCOG continues to invest in research and works with places like Instituto Superior Técnico to grow its presence in Northern Europe and expand globally through Modaxo’s connections, all while keeping its academic and innovative culture alive.
