Fintech iCapital has appointed Rui Guerra as its new managing director in Portugal, replacing Vanda de Jesus, who has moved to Doutor Finanças as co-leader alongside Nuno Leal.
Guerra, who has been with iCapital since 2022, will assume his new role on January 1, 2025, while continuing as head of international corporate finance. He will also take on the position of chairman of the administration in Portugal.
With a 25-year career in investment banking, including 15 years as managing director at Finantia, Guerra has played a key role in expanding iCapital’s corporate finance operations outside the US. Based in Lisbon, he leads a finance team covering EMEA, APAC, and LATAM markets.
The Lisbon hub, currently with over 240 employees, has been instrumental in iCapital’s international growth. The company aims to build on this success under Guerra’s leadership.
