OVHcloud Launches First Public Cloud Local Zone in Portugal

OVHcloud has officially opened its first Local Zone in Lisbon, marking a significant expansion of its public cloud footprint in Portugal. The new zone promises low latency, local data residency, and compliance with stringent security standards, making it an attractive option for Portuguese businesses looking to modernize their infrastructure.

Currently, the Lisbon Local Zone offers core services such as Compute, Block Storage, Object Storage, Backup, and Networking, including local Public IP support. Additional cloud services are expected to roll out in the coming months.

The site is certified under ISO/IEC 27001 (security) and ISO/IEC 14001 (environment), enabling businesses to operate in a secure and environmentally responsible cloud environment.

“This is a historic milestone in our relationship with Portugal,” said John Gazal, VP of Southern Europe and Brazil at OVHcloud. “With this Local Zone, Portuguese companies gain faster, safer, and more efficient services to drive digital transformation.”

With Lisbon now live, OVHcloud operates 27 Local Zones globally, with plans to expand to 42 by August 2025.
