Norwegian company CTS Group, a major player in data center design and construction across the Nordic countries, has chosen Lisbon as its European expansion hub. The newly established CTS Europe headquarters, located in Parque das Nações, will oversee engineering and construction operations across key markets such as Switzerland, Spain, France, and Germany.
Already employing 500 professionals in Portugal, CTS plans to double its team in the near future. The Lisbon office, currently staffed with 50 employees, is set to grow to 100 in the coming months.
CTS has been actively expanding in Portugal, launching Velox Electro in Leiria, forming a joint venture with Mecwide in Barcelos, and acquiring a majority stake in BIMMS in Porto. Additionally, in partnership with Eaton, the group is establishing a factory in Viana do Castelo for EPODS (electricity distribution units), a project expected to create 500 jobs.
CEO Filip Schelfhout highlights Portugal as a strategic location for CTS’s operations, emphasizing the company’s commitment to developing local expertise, supporting internationalization, and strengthening the country’s role in the digital and data economy infrastructure.
