Taking your car to the garage is now much faster. Sociedade Comercial C. Santos has installed the XENTRY Vehicle Detector (XVD). This is the first automated digital scanner in the Iberian Peninsula. It can check a car's health in a few seconds.
As noted at recent technology events, this type of automation is the future of workshops. The XVD uses high-resolution cameras and sensors to scan the car as it drives through a special frame. All the data goes straight to a tablet for the staff to see.

- Bodywork: It finds scratches and dents using 360° photos.
- Tires: it measures the tread depth automatically.
- Alignment: It checks if the wheels are straight.

Vítor Ferreira, a director at C. Santos, says the system saves about eight minutes per car. This is very helpful for a garage that sees over 110 cars every day. It also makes things clearer for the customer. You can see a full report on your car before you agree to pay for any repairs.
