National Unicorn Tekever to Invest €100 Million in France

After committing €470 million to the UK, Portuguese drone maker Tekever is set to invest €100 million in France over the next five years. The company, which opened a French office last year, plans to build a center of excellence for autonomous systems in the Southwest regions of Occitania and New Aquitaine, creating around 100 jobs.

Tekever made the announcement during the “Choose France” event promoted by President Macron, alongside other major investments like Powerdot’s €100 million plan to expand its charging network.

CEO and co-founder Ricardo Mendes shared with ECO that Tekever is rapidly growing, expecting to reach 1,200 employees by year-end. The new funding will accelerate expansion not only in the UK and France but also in Ukraine and other markets yet to be disclosed.

Tekever aims to lead globally in autonomous systems, broadening its footprint far beyond Europe.
