Portuguese spreadsheet startup Rows has been acquired by Superhuman, the productivity software company that now expands its footprint to Portugal. The value of the deal was not disclosed.
According to co-founder Humberto Ayres Pereira, the entire Rows team of more than a dozen people in northern Portugal will remain. He will continue within the organization, leading teams focused on data and productivity, bringing Rows’ AI expertise into Superhuman’s broader product ecosystem.
Founded in 2017 by Humberto Ayres Pereira and Torben Schulz, Rows built AI-powered spreadsheet tools used by around 2.2 million people, with the United States as its main market.
Over its lifetime, the startup raised approximately €30 million. Its main €8 million round was led by Indico Capital Partners, with participation from Cherry Ventures, Accel, Lakestar and Armilar Venture Partners, among others. In 2024, the company also secured a €1.2 million extension round.
Superhuman, which operates in the productivity tools space and integrates AI across its offerings, now adds Rows’ data capabilities to its portfolio — and gains a new base in Porto, reinforcing Portugal’s role in the European tech ecosystem.
