Embraer Group Expands to Portugal with New Atech Office in Lisbon

The Embraer Group is strengthening its European footprint through its subsidiary Atech, which is opening a new office in Lisbon. This move aims to bolster the group’s international presence in defense, security, and air traffic management, supporting Embraer Defense Europe’s broader strategy.

Atech, known as a key developer of Brazil’s air traffic control system and a regular participant in NATO’s Locked Shields cyber defense exercise, sees the Lisbon hub as a gateway to closer ties with European partners and expanded operations in Europe. The company’s CEO, Rodrigo Persico de Oliveira, highlighted that the new base will help deepen collaboration with strategic organizations and grow Atech’s defense and cybersecurity business.

Already active in Latin America and Asia, Atech brings a portfolio that includes command and control systems, real-time monitoring tools, drone and incident management platforms, and advanced cybersecurity technologies. These solutions are aimed at complex operations like crisis response, border control, and national defense—areas with increasing demand across Europe.
