Beyond Vision secures US drone contract and plans $50M factory

Portuguese drone manufacturer Beyond Vision has won a €15 million contract to supply 300 emergency drones in the United States by 2028. The drones, capable of carrying 1.5 kg, equipped with day and thermal cameras, and featuring a 40-minute flight time, will provide emergency response faster than ambulances, reaching incidents in five minutes.

To support this expansion, Beyond Vision plans to open a $50 million factory in the US by 2027, transitioning production of future units from Portugal to the US. The first 50 drones will be delivered next year, followed by 100 in 2027 and 150 in 2028, with potential to expand the contract to 1,000 units based on performance and proof of concept.

Founded in 2013 and currently employing around 80 people, Beyond Vision expects to grow to 800 employees by 2035. The company exports 95% of its production, serving clients including the Portuguese Navy, Portuguese Army, Space42, and police forces in France and Germany, and is expanding to Ukraine and Japan. After posting €2.4 million in revenue last year, Beyond Vision anticipates €20 million this year.
